It’s no question that if we’re near Lake Balaton, it’s worth exploring the gentle wine region stretching above the lake, 
since the cellars not only offer excellent wines, but the hospitality is also impeccable. 
The renovated Laposa Terrace is a real bucket-list destination on the side of Badacsony, with an oval terrace blending into the landscape, welcoming us throughout the year. 
Alongside the exciting wine selection, the panorama unfolding before our eyes – the ever-changing Lake Balaton, the Fonyód hills, and the rows of vines – captivates us. 
The panorama and atmosphere remain unchanged, but the terrace and kitchen have been completely transformed, so Laposa welcomes us with the same old hospitality, but with a renewed look, even in winter, when a heated indoor space offers shelter. It’s no wonder that after a few years, the Laposa family planned a renovation and expansion.
The terrace had outgrown itself, and the bistro kitchen had also become increasingly professional. 

The terrace and the covered outdoor area have become larger, which can be winterized, so even if the weather turns colder, 
there will be no obstacle to visiting the terrace. During the renovation, the interior space was also renewed, with a more spacious room waiting for us with greater capacity. 


The uniqueness of the Badacsony wine region is thanks to its landmark hills, otherwise known as its former volcanoes.
The volcanic activity 4.5 million years ago created a unique soil formation here, basalt, and it is believed that the combination of basalt soil and the unique microclimate prevailing in the wine region results in the harmony and the distinctive mineral sensation that is so characteristic of Badacsony wines. The Laposa family has strived from the beginning to highlight the values of the volcanic terroir, accordingly, they cultivate the grape varieties most suitable for this on the Badacsony, Csobánc, and Köves-hegy areas: Italian Riesling, Rhine Riesling, Grey Pinot, Kéknyelű, and Furmint.
