When it comes to the spiritual, visceral side of deep frequencies, Mala is an unavoidable reference point. As a member of Digital Mystikz and co-founder of the legendary Brixton DMZ parties, the South London producer wasn't just a part of the birth of dubstep, but together with Coki and Loefah, they laid the foundations of the genre. His own label, Deep Medi Musik, has become one of the most important quality benchmarks in the scene over the years, where seamless musicality and heavy subs exist in perfect balance.
Mala's sets are never about cheap effect-chasing, but rather a meditative, yet relentlessly massive inner journey. In the spirit of the classic sound system culture, his 140 bpm, slowly breathing rhythms and chest-compressing basslines become a real physical experience on the dance floor. He still has the jealously guarded dubplates and genre-defining anthems in his bag, delivering them without any unnecessary posing.
This time, well-known names and rising talents from the domestic scene will take care of the appropriate warm-up, ensuring the transition between the past, present and future of dubstep.
